Better Outcomes
Better Outcomes in Mental Health Care (BOiMHC) aims to provide better access to Psychological services through General Practice. Three Psychologists and one Clinical Psychologist provide services to patients who have a GP referral. The Psychologists operate out of each of the 7 Practices in the Murray Mallee. Six – twelve sessions can be provided. There is no cost to the patient.
Referral Criteria
People of any age assessed as having mental health disorder which will respond to time limited psychological interventions e.g.:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Panic Disorder
- Bereavement disorders
- Sleep problems
The patient must have a GP Mental Health Care Plan (Item 2710) & GP referral.
Exclusion criteria:
Acute client requiring crisis intervention, dementia, delirium, intellectual disability, personality disorder, drug & alcohol/tobacco use, medico-legal/work cover related
