More Allied Health Services (MAHS) aims to support the work of GPs in rural and remote areas, by addressing some of the gaps in allied health service provision. MAHS funds a social worker two days a week in Meningie to provide support to GPs at the Coorong Medical Centre. Referrals can be made by the GP for patients requiring assistance with a range of issues including accommodation, financial counseling, family issues, anger management and domestic violence.
